Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev secured his first trophy for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult year, managing just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in especial - led to him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with former trainer Cervara.
Presently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from March of 2023.
The win also signifies he has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one different events.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my children together, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, including in Halle previously this season.
The player's retrieving play style and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had led commentators to doubt if his capacity to compete at the highest level was concluded.
However the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to advance forward and compete assertively, supported by an improved serving game.
Medvedev came back from a break down in the first set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the last five games to go ahead.
The pair exchanged service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a final set.
The opponent rescued four early-game chances in a tight final set before the Russian won the break to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, the winner secured the title with a point at the net area, with Moutet unable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
